Pasta, potato and broccoli Au Gratin with Nutmeg - leovencorpuzdeceo

Potato pasta, but with broccoli. So, nothing at all like gratin I guess… Anyway, it’s still good stuff. Very quick to make, and broccoli is full of iron which makes you grow up big and strong.This recipe involves making a white sauce. Now this is pretty easy to do, recipe below. ENJOY! 

Ingredients
225g Pasta
2 large head of broccoli, cut into florets
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Potatoes

For the Cream cheese sauce:
25g butter
2 tbsp plain flour
600ml Fresh Milk
1 tbsp  mustard
175g e Cheddar Cheese, grated
Nutmeg

Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C, gas mark 6. First make the cheese sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan and stirring in the flour. Cook for about 1 minute then remove from the heat. Whisk in the milk a little at a time until the sauce is smooth. Bring to the boil and continue cooking for a further minute or until the sauce has thickened, stirring all the time.
Remove from the heat and stir in the mustard and half the grated cheese until melted and smooth. Season to taste.
Bring a large pan of lightly salted water to the boil. Add the pasta & potatoes then cook. About 5 minutes before the pasta is ready add the broccoli florets to the pan. Drain the pasta and broccoli together and shake off excess water, peel of the potatoes then cut horizontally  then arrange in a 2 litre gratin dish and pour over the cheese sauce.

Fondant Cake??? 
Everybody would love to make a fondant cake, you just have knead, mold and design the cake. And I was the same as most everyone else at first… scared of using fondant cause I always thought & heard it was really really hard to use and took years of practice to get it right… but that’s not the case at all! If you learn the little secrets and how to’s before hand  you’re well on the way to making fabulous fondant cakes… believe me!! Anyway I surf some designs in internet and it goes,  wedding cakes, birthday cakes, character cakes and even some weird cakes, everything is too mainstream. I found a very unique and elegant style from my facebook friend Chef Edward of Royale Patiserrie, I am very much inspired of his works and creations, from dessert and to a very elegant Nd sophisticated cakes. I tried some of his work which i copied the design (lol) “picture above”, t’was messy but i am very proud of it. Credits also to Ms. Toni Hontiveros & Monster Kitchen of the recipe. whhhooopps!
